This dark bean to bar chocolate is made from cocoa beans from Guatemala . The beans are grown sustainably and Duffy Sheardown sources the cocoa beans directly from the cocoa farmer with no intermediaries. This way the farmer can be sure that he is getting a fair price for his labor.

The chocolate has notes of honey, currants and a touch of earth, as well as a peppery note in the finish.

The chocolate has just won the MMM World Gold Prize from the founders of the International Chocolate Awards 2017 in the Micro-batch - Plain / origin dark chocolate bars category.
At the International Chocolate Awards 2018 Europe he received bronze for this bar in the same category.

Duffy Sheardown is one of the chocolate pioneers and was the first in England to start making "fine cacao" beans using the bean to bar process. As a racing car builder, he is used to working very precisely and was able to produce consistent quality relatively quickly.
