Handgemachte Tree-to-Bar Schokolade aus Peru. Die Ultra Premium Chuncho Kakaobohnen kommen aus der Region Cusco/Quillabamba. Sie werden natürlich angebaut und werden direkt gehandelt. Meybol Cacao zahlt einen wesentlichen höheren Preis.

Chuncho ist ein Wort aus der alten Sprache der Inkas Quechua und bedeutet "schüchtern und klein". Chuncho ist auch der Name für eine der feinsten Kakaobohnen der Welt. Von den über hundert Jahre alten Kakaobohnen werden nur knapp eine Tonne im Jahr geerntet. Ursprünglich wurden die Kakaobäume von den Matshiguengas Indianern angebaut. Sie lebten auf über 3.500 m Höhe in den Tälern des Apurimac und der Villa Virgen in der Region Cusco.

Die Schokolade hat vielfältige Aromen nach Honig, Guanabana, Heckkirsche, Pflaume, Rosine, grünem Tee, Bergamotte. Die Kakaobohne ist nur wenig bitter und sehr cremig.

Die Zutaten der Schokolade bestehen nur aus Kakao und Zucker, sonst nichts. Es gibt jedes Jahr nur 500 kg des Kakaos, manche Bäume sind über 100 Jahre alt.
