Prestat was founded in London in 1902 by Antoine Dufour because he wanted to follow in the footsteps of his family who invented the chocolate truffle in Chambery, France in 1895. Roald Dahl, the author of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" chose the Prestat truffle as the main character in his novel "My Uncle Oswald".

Our chocolates have been traveling the world on board the Royal Yacht Britannia for many years and in 1975 Prestat was appointed purveyor to the Royal Court by Her Majesty the Queen. To our great joy, this honor was bestowed upon us for the second time by Her Majesty the Queen Mother in her hundredth year.

Prestat is known for its unusual and elegant packaging. The chocolates and truffles have delighted royal families, sultans and maharajas, princesses and presidents, stars in the arena and on television, simply everyone who enjoys the finest chocolate for over 100 years.
