Bergamot jam 85% fruit content

The jam is made from fresh bergamot fruits from Crete. The fruit is a genus of citrus plants that probably originated from a cross between the sweet lime and the bitter orange. The fruit is known for the essential oils contained in the peel. Bergamot oil is widely used in the perfume industry and for scenting tea and is therefore also called "green gold".

Bergamot fruit jam is known as a delicacy because of its sour, slightly bitter and typical flavor.
