Tobago belongs to the Trinidad and Tobago archipelago, which is off the north coast Venezuela's located. Tobago as the smaller of the two islands is located 30 km northeast of Trinidad and belongs to the archipelago of the Lesser Antilles. The nearest Antilles island is Grenada, the 150 km to the northwest. The climate on Tobago is tropical with a constant average temperature of 28 ° C. Probably the oldest nature reserve in the world is also located on the island. The Tobago Forest Reserve has been a nature reserve since 1776. Therefore there is a great diversity of species there. In 1958, both islands became independent as part of the West Indian Federation.
There is a cocoa plantation on Tobago Island owned by Duane Dove . The Trinitario cocoa beans are processed in France by Francois Pralus into 70% chocolate and 45% milk chocolate (Intern. Chocolate Award 2017 in gold). The cocoa is a typical Trinitario , with notes of red cherries and dried fruits. And a second plantation, the North West Tamana Farms on the island of Trinidad. The cocoa beans from there are processed bean-to-bar at Art Pollard by Amano Chocolate in Utah, USA, into the 68.9% Rose Hill Estate chocolate , which you can also get from us.
