Der Kakao für diese Schokolade stammt aus Kolumbien. Die Hacienda Betulia ist ein Schweizer-Kolumbianisches Familienprojekt. Die Farm liegt im Nordwesten von Kolumbien in der Provinz Antioquia. Der Kakao wird nachhaltig in einer Agroforstwirtschaft neben einem Naturschutzgebiet angebaut. Es sind hauptsächlich alte Criollosorten, die seltene und sehr komplexe Aromen haben. Dabei haben die einzelnen Sorten als Namen den Buchstaben B + eine Zahl, hier B9.

Das Besondere an den Kakaobohnen ist ihre helle Farbe. Die dunkle Schokolade ist so hell wie eine Milchschokolade, siehe Foto. Der Kakao schmeckt relativ süß und überraschend fruchtig. Ein Hochgenuss! Die Schokolade ist eine Herkunftsschokolade und ein Single Variety Criollo.
