Sur del Lago Maracaibo 70% dark chocolate

Single Origin Chocolate

Cocoa from Venezuela is very difficult to obtain due to the political situation in the country. The Franceschi family has owned cacao plantations since 1830, some with very old cacao trees. These are plants with high Criollo content, which is very rare to find.

The cacao comes from the southwest coast of Lake Maracaibo and is a Trinitario, a Sur del Lago. The area is known for its outstanding cacao and is one of the oldest cacao growing areas in the world.

The cocoa has typical notes of a Criollo. The silky sweet flavors have made the cacao famous. The chocolate was awarded the Great Taste Award in 2020 with 2 stars.

Try this rare chocolate made from even rarer Venezuelan cacao beans. The chocolate consists of small chocolate bars packaged in a resealable bag.
