The history of Beschle Chocolatier Suisse dates back to 1898. The confectionery was founded by Ernst Beschle in Basel. Then as now, all specialties are prepared by hand with great attention to detail.
For more than 100 years we have been continuously striving for the highest quality. If raw materials became scarce - such as during the two world wars - or not available, alternatives were not looked for, but production was abandoned. This principle still applies today: only the best ingredients are used for production.
Only selected fine cocoa beans such as Criollo - or Trinitarian beans used. These are supplemented with fine roasted aromas during the roasting process and thus achieve an even more intense taste. The cocoa beans come from South America, more precisely Venezuela. Another exclusive cultivation area, from which the Trinitario beans originate, is Madagascar. The chocolate is refined with Swiss products and according to our own recipes. The passionate care of the craft and the ceaseless search for the best ingredients has recently led to a joint project which aims to shape the best cocoa beans in the world into exquisite Swiss chocolate products.
Award-winning Swiss chocolate creations
The two white chocolates were created in collaboration with artists: Matcha and Lassi. Both the chocolate itself and the packaging deserve attention. In this case, the well-known Matcha tea from Japan comes from the renowned Les Gourmandises de Miyuko company. The Lassi chocolate consists of white chocolate with 40% cocoa content made in Switzerland and the Indian yogurt Lassi, as well as lemon and orange zest. We are happy to serve the chocolate with our Chardonnay from Schriesheim.
Pascal Beschle produces the recipes for dark chocolate with rosemary and lemon thyme or fleur de sel and pistachio. The famous Swiss milk chocolate should not be missing in the range and is represented with the Grand Cru Maracaibo 38%. Almost all chocolates have won a prize at the International Chocolate Awards or the Academy of Chocolate.
