The cocoa beans for this chocolate come from the east coast of Madagascar from Domaine de Vohibinany (Brickaville). Today the place is called Ampasimanolotra and is a small village in the Atsinanana region of Madagascar.

The chocolate has aromas of caramel, walnut, banana and slight bitterness in the finish. It is made only from cocoa beans and cane sugar, nothing else.In 2017, it was awarded silver by the Academy of Chocolate.

It is produced directly in Madagascar. The small farmers who work for Chocolaterie Robert have an income they can live on in one of the poorest countries in the world.
