Tartufo Dolce al Cocco - White hazelnut truffle with coconut

The white hazelnut truffles from Antica Torroneria Piemontese are made from the best hazelnuts in the world: IGP hazelnuts from Piedmont . IGP, which is freely translated from Italian "Protected geographical indication" means, certifies that the hazelnuts originate from the Piedmont region. The region around Turin is known for the outstanding quality of its hazelnuts. The hazelnuts owe their excellent taste and smell, long shelf life and good peelability to the ideal conditions under which they grow in north-west Italy. The winters are mild and the soil is moist and warm.

Most of the hazelnuts are finely ground for the truffle, a smaller part is just chopped. They will with Sugar, whole milk powder, cocoa butter and desiccated coconut mixed and formed into a long line. Mung-ready pieces are cut from the queue and then packed individually.

Antica Torroneria Piemontese is a family company that already produced in the 4th generation. It was founded in 1885 by Giuseppe Sebaste.
