Georgia Ramon

Georgia Ramon was founded in spring 2015 as a chocolate store with its own café and production facilities. This was the idea of Georg Bernardini and Ramona Gustmann, who are now married. Hence the play on words in the name (Georg ➤ Georgia) and (Ramona ➤ Ramon). Georgia Ramon quickly distinguished itself with its range of products, some of which are certified Organic. Despite the challenges of sourcing certain ingredients, the founders made a conscious decision to focus on variety and creativity in their chocolate creations.

Experience and history

Georg Bernardini is no newcomer to the art of chocolate making. With two decades of experience as a chocolatier and confectioner and as co-founder of the German confectionery Coppeneur, Bernardini brings his passion to Georgia Ramon. His quite daring contributions to chocolate literature with titles such as "Der Schokoladentester" and "Schokolade - Das Standardwerk" have at least made his name known in the chocolate world.

From pure, gently roasted chocolates to strong flavors enriched with the world's hottest Carolina Reaper chili, Georgia Ramon proves that there are no limits to creativity and taste in the realm of Chocolate.

However, for those who want to venture into the fierier side of flavors, Georgia Ramon presents the "Carolina Reaper" chocolate bar. This bold blend combines the world's hottest chili with rich, dark Chocolate for a taste sensation like no other. Despite the well-known power of the Carolina Reaper, the spice in this Chocolate bar is surprisingly pleasant and creates a warm, non-biting spiciness that spreads evenly across the palate. With a cocoa content of 70%, this dark chocolate bar retains an intense and distinctive flavor profile. Remarkably, the presence of the chili enhances the natural flavors of the Chocolate rather than overshadowing them, creating a harmonious balance that can only be described as a masterpiece. A new chapter

A new chapter began for Georgia Ramon in 2020 when Phillip Butzmann, an apprentice chocolatier at Georgia Ramon, took over the business after a successful apprenticeship. His tragic accidental death in 2023 was a great loss not only for his family and friends, but also for the Bean-To-Bar in Germany. In his memory, his family and his partner Laureen Wunsch set out to find someone with the passion to carry on Phillip's dream.

Today, Georgia Ramon is under the direction of Karin Steinhoff and Nele M. Eble, both longtime chocolate makers and chocolatiers. Philip's parents, Constanze and Ralf Butzmann, wanted to keep the company in family hands. And so the aim is not only to preserve the incredible variety of Bean-To-Bar that have made Georgia Ramon a household name, but also to expand the range. With new plans to try new products such as Pralines, dragees and spreads, we're excited for what's to come.

As Georgia Ramon moves into its next phase, it remains true to its goal of delivering exceptional Bean-To-Bar. With a blend of traditional craftsmanship and innovative flavor combinations, Georgia Ramon's chocolates are a testament to the power of passion, dedication and the enduring legacy of its founders and successors.
