Maraná was born out of a passion for Peruvian cacao, a commitment to the people who dedicate their work and lives to it, and our desire to make the best chocolates.

For many years, growing coca leaves was the only way to survive for the vast majority of farmers who grow cocoa today. Then, in the 1990s, an effective program was introduced to grow alternative crops to coca leaf, including cacao. From then on, these brave farmers decided to become protagonists of a great change and began to plant cacao on their land, changing not only their lives but also the course of the country.

Maraná wants to be part of this revolution. That's why they pay a fair price that values the work of cocoa farmers and has a real impact on their lives and the lives of their families.
We work hand-in-hand with them to develop programs aimed at improving their harvesting and post-harvesting techniques and optimizing the quality of their products to give them access to higher-value markets. Their progress is our progress.

Our roots

In Maraná, we are a team with a great passion for producing the best Chocolate. We believe that our work starts in the field, so we take care of every detail of the process to have the best cacao in our workshop.

That is why we work with the best selection of Peruvian cocoa beans from Cusco, Piura and San Martin, whose taste will surprise you!

We handcraft our Chocolate in small batches, processing each batch in unique and special ways to bring out the flavors of the cacao in our Chocolate. We know that flavor must be accompanied by a delicate and elegant texture. That is why our refining, conching and tempering process is subject to strict quality control, which ensures that each of our bars offers a unique taste experience for your palate that will take you to the "roots of Peruvian Chocolate".

Maraná's commitment also extends to the environment and the health of our customers. That is why we use 100% organic ingredients in the production of all our chocolates.
