West Papua Amelonado 80% dark chocolate

The West Papua region is part of the island of New Guinea and is largely covered with pristine rainforest - in fact, it is the second largest after the Amazon rainforest. The biological diversity of plants and animals here is enormous. New animal species are constantly being discovered that were not even known to the local population. In 2019, the local government declared this piece of earth as Indonesia's first nature conservation zone. It protects one of the most intact and healthy marine and terrestrial ecosystems in the world, promotes sustainable jobs and advocates for the rights of the indigenous peoples of the region.

The Ebier Suth ("Unity to Arise") cocoa producers' cooperative in Ransiki South Manokwari, Papua New Guinea was founded in 2017 and currently employs around 200 people. Cocoa farming is at the heart of this region and the team aims to preserve and promote its history, as well as the unique and elegant flavours of their cocoa beans.
