75% Tulakalum Pure Belize dark chocolate

with a touch of vanilla

Tulakalum means "together" in the Mayan language. The plantation where the cacao grows is located in the middle of the Yamwits Valley in the district of Cayo "between the mountains". The plantation has been sold, abandoned, hit by hurricanes and reforested several times throughout its history. The plantation is managed without herbicides and insecticides and blends into the landscape, into the intact natural landscape. The plantation is now owned by Maya Mountain Cacao, which was founded in 2010 by Emily Stone. She thus continues the tradition on the plantation. Everything is done to protect the high quality cocoa. Everything is done according to an ethical approach, both ecologically and socially. At Maya Mountain Cacao (MMC) 350 small farmers are organized, who can afford a higher standard of living due to the fair wages.

Valrhona has entered into a long-term partnership with MMC and promotes reforestation, as well as sustainable and organic agroforestry.

The chocolate with 75% cocoa content is not very sweet and has notes of ripe red fruits. A chocolate with intense cocoa notes.
