In the Dominican Republic , cocoa is grown in addition to coffee. Conacado (Confederación Nacional de cacaocultores dominicanos) was founded in 1985 and today has over 10,000 members. The cooperative wants to improve the situation of the cocoa farmers and achieve better yields and thus higher incomes through high quality standards. In addition, the cocoa is grown sustainably on the farms. The cocoa has several certifications, including the organic certification . All cocoa from Valrhona can be traced back to the origin.

The dark milk chocolate tastes intensely like cocoa, is very creamy and has notes of caramel and dark, red fruits.
