The dark chocolate is made from cocoa beans from Jamaica. It is said that cocoa beansa from Jamaica were the first to be exported to England, where a milky drink was made from them. It was sold as a medicine.

Today, all cocoa beans from the country are sold exclusively through a government agency. The cocoa is mainly Trinitario.
