The cocoa for this creamy milk chocolate comes from Peru from the  region Piura in the northwest of the country. The Norandino cooperative has more than 7,000 members, mostly smallholder families who grow coffee and panela in addition to cacao. The cooperative's mission is to help farmers achieve higher and stable incomes and to enforce ethical principles among themselves, as well as with trading partners. All growers are now Organic and Fairtrade certified. The collaboration with Valrhona started in 2013 and has gone from strength to strength. The cooperative supplies cacao from two regions in Piura: from the Sierra de Piura and from the humid forests of San Martin. Valrhona supports the cultivation of Gran Blanco cacao and receives exclusive sourcing rights in return.

After the devastating floods of 2016, Valrhona supported farmers through financial aid and provided clean drinking water to the communities of La Quemazón and Los Ranchos the following year. in 2018, a cocoa processing center was built. in 2020, solar panels were installed to power a water pump in La Quemazon. Today, La Quemazon has permanent access to running water.
