Dos Estaciones

The two met in New Zealand during work & travel, she a master confectioner from Bavaria and he a programmer from Chile. As life goes... Together they traveled all the way to Peru to spend a month on Oliver and Luz's plantation in Chazuta. They were able to experience every step of the cocoa harvest and the production of Chocolate up close and were able to work there and learn a lot.

Corinna and Alex Camacho Angeles now live in Beilngries and have opened their own chocolaterie with an online store. They import the valuable cocoa beans directly from their friends in Peru and process them from bean to bar - bean to bar in Bavaria. The company and all products are certified organic.

The home of Dos Estaciones cocoa

Chazuta is a small town in the region of San Martin, Peru, located about an hour south-east of Tarapoto. The village is 250 meters above sea level, right at the foot of the Huallaga River (a branch of the Amazon). Due to its close proximity to the water, boats are the main means of transportation. People, animals and products - including cocoa - are transported by water. Chazuta also has a deep-rooted ancestral culture. One of the oldest cultural assets, which is still preserved today, is ceramics. It has been a national cultural heritage for some time now. Today, cocoa cultivation is driving the economic development of the region, creating jobs and thus helping to reduce poverty.

Fair Trade +

Fair trade is important to Dos Estaciones, which is why they source their cocoa directly from a single cocoa farm where they themselves have lived and worked. Not only do they know where the cocoa grows, they can provide information about the working conditions on site and, above all, they pay a fair price for the cocoa and have learned a lot about the art of cocoa cultivation and everything that goes with it. Fundo Qoya is a small family-run farm - The Fundo Qoya farm not only specializes in the traditional and sustainable cultivation of cocoa, but also supports the people from the surrounding area, for example by organizing markets and supporting young women. The small plantation in Peru produces around 6 tons of highly aromatic cocoa every year. This is a negligible amount compared to the demand of the world's corporations. However, the quality of the cocoa is unique with its wonderful aromas.
For the good cocoa from the Fundo Qoya farm, they pay 45% more than the price set by Fairtrade for Organic cocoa. Why? We need to go into more detail about Fairtrade and the various Fairtrade organizations and Fairtrade labels. Read more about Fair Trade on this website.

In addition to the numerous chocolate bars with unusual ingredients such as the 65% Chili & Rosemary, for which they won European Gold at the International Chocolate Awards 2012, the products even include cocoa liqueur, which they created with a local spirits producer. You should definitely also try cocoa with salt & pepper for seasoning food or cocoa tea or vegan Hot Chocolate.
The latest bar is a milk chocolate, made with local milk powder from Bavarian cows. We are looking forward to the further development and the taste experiences with Chocolate.
