Bean-To-Bar Chocolate

The ORGANIC chocolate is produced from the bean to the cocoa bean (bean-to-bar) in the manufacture of Coppeneur manufactured.

The 100% India Organic Bar is packed entirely in black with a light pink label. The chocolate is vegan, gluten-free and nut-free.

In every Chocolate bar by Coppeneur you will find a card with a Code from Fair Cacao . With this you can promote the cultivation of a cocoa tree in the Mata Atlantica in Brazil . Coppeneur is one of the few Bean-To-Bar manufacturer in Germany. Oliver Coppeneur tours the cocoa plantations himself and is convinced of the sustainable cultivation and the fair payment of his cocoa farmers. In Bad Honnef he processes the cocoa beans into his Cru de Cao BIO chocolate series. The cocoa content ranges from 61% cocoa content to 100% pure cocoa mass without any added sugar.

The organic cocoa beans Idukki come from the southwest of the country from the state of Kerala, which is also called God's own country. The region is very fertile and a large part of the agricultural products and spices such as vanilla, cardamom, cinnamon and nutmeg.

The Indukki Mountains are part of the Western Ghats Mountain Range and extend from Mumbai to the southern tip of India. Endangered Asian elephants, macaques and bears live in the mountains. Half of the Indukki area is covered by rich flora and fauna, where cocoa finds ideal growing conditions.

The cocoa trees are Trinitario and Forastero plants, more precisely < strong> Mankuva . They are named after the village of Mankuva, where the mother trees came from.

The beans are bought directly from the cocoa farmers and processed in GoGround's post-harvest center. The cocoa beans are fermented for 5 days in wooden boxes and then dried on large, protected tables .

GoGround was founded by Ellen and Luca, a Belgian-Italian couple who help farmers in rural communities produce the best cocoa. The farmers receive premium prices for premium quality and are paid weekly. Because they know that GoGround is coming, they wait to break open the pods until they are collected. In this way, only the freshest beans become Indukki BIO cocoa beans.
