Die Schokolade wird aus den seltenen Nacional Kakaobohnen aus dem Maranon Canyon in Peru hergestellt. Chocolate Tree zahlt den Kakaobauern einen Premium Preis, damit diese seltenen und hoch aromatischen Kakaobohnen erhalten bleiben. Die Schokolade hat bei der Academy of Chocolate 2015 Bronze gewonnen,
bei den International Chocolate Awards Britain 2017 Bronze

Die Verpackung besteht aus recyceltem Karton und die Folie ist aus pflanzlichem Rohstoff hergestellt und lässt sich zuhause kompostieren.

Chocolate Tree in Schottland ist gerade in eine neue Produktionshalle in Dunbar an der schottischen Ostküste umgezogen. Alastaire Gower und Friederike Gower stellen seit 2009 Schokolade Bean-to-Bar her.
