Der Kakao für diese Schokolade wird im Nordosten Venezuelas angebaut, hat einen langen Abgang, mit kräftigen Kakao Aromen und Anklängen von Trockenfrüchten.

Die Bohnen stammen von der Plantage der Familie Franceschi. 1827 kam der Korse Vincente Franceschi im Alter von 17 Jahren in Carupano, Venezuela, an. Er gründete 1830 die V. Franceschi & Cia, S.A., die heute eine der ältesten eine Kakaoexportfirmen des Landes ist. Der Trinitario-Kakao wird seit 1840 auf den Plantagen der Familie selbst angebaut. Sie gehören seit Jahrzehnten zu den angesehensten Kakaobauern und besten Schokoladen.
