Carupano 70% dark chocolate from Venezuela

The cocoa for this Chocolate is grown in northeastern Venezuela, has a long finish, with strong cocoa flavors and hints of dried fruit.

The beans come from the Franceschi family plantation.Vincente Franceschi, a Corsican, arrived in Carupano, Venezuela in 1827 at the age of 17. In 1830, he founded V. Franceschi & Cia, S.A., which today is one of the oldest cocoa exporting companies in the country. The Trinitario cocoa has been grown on the family's own plantations since 1840. They have been among the most respected cacao farmers and best chocolates for decades.
