Puerto Cabello 70% dark chocolate from Venezuela

A very aromatic Chocolate from the Carabobo region. Notes of red fruits or sour fruits, depending on the harvest. Vegetal aromas, dried fruit and undergrowth.

At the time of colonization, the port got its name from the Spaniards, who said that the sea was so calm that boats could be tied to the dock with a single hair (hair = "cabello" in Spanish). Puerto Cabello was used by Dutch smugglers in the 17th century. Later, the region became one of the preferred areas of the Spanish colonizers to grow cacao. This cacao heritage lives on in the myriad genetic variations and flavors found in the tropical mountains of the region.

These beans are a combination of Trinitario with a high percentage of Criollo.
