Original Beans hat diese Kakaosorte in Selva Zoque, dem größen Regenwald Mexikos im Süden des Landes entdeckt. Die Zoque- und Tzotzil-Stämme bauen Kakao schon seit 4.000 Jahren in dieser Region an. Sie gaben dem Kakaobaum seinen Namen: Kakaw und einen Gott gleich dazu: den Kakaofrucht essenden Spinnenaffen. Hier findet sich der Geburtsort der Schokolade.

Die Verpackung und die Folie sind aus Holz hergestellt und damit komplett abbaubar und abfallfrei.
