Fjak Sjokolade

FJAK Chocolate is based in Eidfjord at the very end of Norway's Hardangerfjord. It was there that Siv Hereid and Agur Concellon started making chocolate on a whim in 2015, initially with the simplest of equipment for home use. They experimented and learned a lot about chocolate making and also tried to find the best cocoa beans. in 2017, they were ready and founded the brand Fjåk, which translates to "lovable" in the local dialect, as Siv explains.

The very next year, they caused a stir at the Academy of Chocolate awards for their creations when they picked up gold, silver and bronze awards and were named best newcomer. Since then they have won many awards: whether Academy of Chocolate, Great Taste Award or at the International Chocolate Awards. Our favorites are the chocolates with typical Norwegian ingredients, such as Brunost, the typical Norwegian caramelized cheese or Chocolate with Reindeer moss. Also chocolates with licorice (Lakrisrot) and (a bit Christmasy) gingerbread (Pepperkake) belong to every Scandinavian assortment.

The declared goal is to produce excellent artisan chocolates from fairly traded cocoa beans. For this FJAK obtains its cocoa beans directly from cooperatives or producers who have been awarded for their cocoa.

FJAK at the Chocolate Festival

in 2020, Siv decided to devote more time to her family again and left FJAK. This has spurred Agur to become even more creative and not only produce pure chocolates but also add the aforementioned bars of ingredients to the range.

Fjak Sjokolade was present at the world's first virtual Chocolate Gourmet Festival - organized by Chocolats-de-luxe.com
