Florentines have absolutely nothing to do with the city of Florence, as one might think. Rather, the flat, round pastry with a chocolate base probably originated in France. Coppeneur has modified the classic biscuit shape and turned it into a filled bar of chocolate with almond nougat. We think the result tastes delicious.

The bar of Florentine almond nougat chocolate has a Christmas banderole with a burning fireplace and fir branches and filled Christmas stockings on it.
