Das Marzipan von Sawade wird aus Süß- und Bittermandeln aus dem Mittelmeer in traditioneller Weise hergestellt. Die Masse wird langsam in offenen Kupferkesseln geröstet. Die Marzipanmasse mit 100% Rohmassenqualität hat einen Mandelanteil von 52%, was bedeutet, dass der Zuckeranteil relativ gering ausfällt.

Die fertigen Brote werden in Zartbitterschokolade getaucht mit einem Kakaogehalt von mindestens 60%. Das Marzipanbrot wird in goldenes Stanniolpapier und Klarsichtfolie gewickelt damit es möglichst lange frisch bleibt.
