Die Zartbitterschokolade mit 70% Kakaogehalt und Meersalz wird aus Kakaobohnen von einer nachhaltig wirtschaftenden Kooperative im Urwald von Pangoa in Peru hergestellt.

Mark Gerrits verarbeitet die Kakaobohnen handwerklich in seiner Manufaktur in Santiago zu einer Bean-to-Bar Schokolade. Die Zutatenliste ist sehr kurz: nur Kakaobohnen und Rohrzucker aus nachhaltigem Anbau und Meersalz aus Cáhuil.

Das Salz aus Cáhuil wird schon seit Jahrhunderten aus den kalten Strömen des Humboldt Flusses gewonnen.

Óbolo Chocolate gehört zu den B-Corporations und hat sich zu Nachhaltigkeit,Transparenz und Fairness in der Herstellung der Produkte verpflichtet. Dazu gehört auch die faire Bezahlung und der ethische Umgang mit allen Menschen, die in den gesamten Prozess involviert sind.
